Underground Surrealism: The Eyeball in the Cave
A psychedelic descent underground takes center stage in this vibrant gig-poster design. The artwork showcases the iconic giant eyeball mascot of the avant-garde music collective, sporting its signature formal top hat adorned with a bold orange band. Cloaked in black tie with cartoonish gloved white hands pointing outward, the surreal figure is framed against jagged cavern stalactites that drip from the ceiling under a cosmic, star-speckled sky.
The composition leans heavily into classic counterculture aesthetics, utilizing hyper-saturated shades of lime green, hot pink, and deep violet to set an electric tone. Running vertically down the left edge, bold yellow-and-green bubble lettering spells out “THE RESIDENTS,” while the top right corner highlights the “ESKIMO LIVE!” event header. Anchoring the bottom border, venue block text reads “10-22 THE CAVERNS / PELHAM, GRUNDY COUNTY, TENN.,” tying the entire retro concert poster visual neatly together on the front of The Residents Pelham Concert Poster For Eskimo Live On October 22nd 2026 At The Caverns In Grundy County Tennessee Short White T-Shirt.
A framed red border tightly binds the graphic, balancing the glowing neon elements with deep shadows and stylized comic-book linework. It captures the unmistakably bizarre and playful visual identity that defined decades of experimental art rock.
